Visual Identity for a Historic Cultural Landmark.

Located in Beipu, Hsinchu, the Chiang A-Hsin Mansion is a masterpiece of "East-meets-West" architecture completed in 1946. Having witnessed the glory of Taiwan’s tea trade, this historic residence required a new visual identity following its restoration. The goal was to blend historical depth with modern aesthetics to meet the needs of a contemporary cultural and creative venue.

  • Visual identity

The design strategy focuses on "elevating heritage value" by extracting geometric elements from the architecture itself. The logo features a refined illustration of the mansion’s iconic Baroque facade. This clean, detailed linework preserves the soul of the historic estate while infusing it with a sophisticated, modern sensibility.

The layout emphasizes balance and spatial harmony. We selected warm serif typefaces to reflect the mansion’s grandeur and its international trading legacy. The color palette centers on "Bronze Gold" and "Deep Black"—gold symbolizing the prosperity of the "Golden Tea" era, and black representing the understated elegance of professional restoration. By merging these elements, the design transforms historical emotion into a tangible brand asset, allowing the legend of the "Beipu Tea Tiger" to flourish once again.
